As I grow, it feels like the hours of the day are becoming less and less. Time flies and all I see is I have something to do with each passing second. The busyness just keeps on increasing. We all can find ourselves so busy and in this busyness miss the most important aspects of our lives.
In today’s devotion, I was impressed to remember the essence of the Word of God. The Word of God in our time and age is readily available on the internet, as apps on our phones and so many ways to get access to the Bible text which makes it seem like if it is often taken for granted. I came across this text in 2nd Timothy 3:15 which I kept pondering over” You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.” This is why I read the Bible, it provides wisdom and guidance for me in my Christian life, to use in working on my salvation referenced by Paul.
Today’ I share with you a few Bible verses that have rekindled my spark and I pray it does the same for you to seek to study, obey, soak, love, trust I mean I could go on… with the Word of God. The Holy Scriptures is a blessing and need never to be taken for granted. I pray that we will all continue to soak in God’s word to build on our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord Savior.
Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” – Luke 11:28
God’s word is spoken not only to be heard but to be obeyed
Thy Word have I hid mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. – Psalm 119:11
God’s word is guide to help us live holy lives to God’s glory.
Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. – Proverbs 30:5
God’s promises keeps us when we face those dark moments. In Christ we are never to be helpless. God’s word is a shield against any darkness and evil that we may face in our walk with Christ.
7 Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth. – John 17:17
God’s word sets us apart. It is the truth that we abide in and we are swayed by the deciets and lies of the enemy in the world.
15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. – 2nd Timothy 2:15
We are called to spread the Gospel, we cannot give what we do not have. Beloved, let us study God’s word with all diligence that we may be able to spread the goodnews in love and grace to bring our brothers and sisters to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus.
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. – John 8:31
Finally, this is the litmus test to prove our faithfulness to our God. To be true disciples of Jesus Christ , it is in our committment to obeying God’s word always.
It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will continue to be our helper, our strength and guide to know, seek and obey God’ s word. It is by God’s word that we obtain salvation in Jesus Christ and it is in God’s word that we will prevail in our walk with Christ. Beloved in Jesus Christ let us continue to soak in God’s word now and always. May God richly bless you.
Amen! I love the Scriptures you have selected! The Word of God truly brings life to our days! Thank you. ❤ ❤
