The Rain in the Storm

Rainstorms are associated with distractions; they cause damage to properties, lives, and the environment. But in every rainstorm, there are drops of water that fall to the ground as rain. Rain, when falling, may not be pleasant to some, but, in essence, rain is so beneficial. Rain washes and waters the ground, rain dissolves chemicals in the atmosphere; rain irrigates farmlands. After the rain passes, we see a beautiful rainbow, and seeds that were buried in the ground springs forth as seedlings to cover the earth with vegetation.

COVID 19 has taken a great toll in this world, COVID 19 is like the storm that is causing so much pain and destruction. Day after day, we count the number of lives that are lost, and those contracting the virus keep increasing, but the grace and the power of God are still at work, turning what the enemy meant for evil to be good. There is rain in this storm which is the everpresent help of God (Psalm 46:1-3). After the storm passes, the world will testify of the glory of God that will be seen across the face of the earth.

Beloved in Christ, already so many great things are happening in people’s lives during such challenging times. God’s light is shining brighter and brighter each day. Here are a few of them to encourage us to hold on and keep on praying and trust that God Almighty will cause us to overcome COVID-19 in Jesus Christ’s name.

Repentance in the Earth

This time of quarantine has brought our nations to a halt and has given many the opportunity to pause and think upon their lives. Such reflections have included: Who am I? Why am here? and Where am I going? These questions have stirred many to seek God, to look for God and to worship God. Many have come to find the emptiness within their lives and now are seeking Jesus Christ to come into their lives. Christian health workers are sharing testimonies of how lives are being transformed right before them. The peace of God is flooding the hearts of those who are crying out to Him. This crisis has created a great opportunity for souls to be delivered from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2nd Chronicles 7:14

A Revival Has Began

Many people are crying to God, prayers are being lifted day in day out into the heavens. Hearts are being stirred with the fire of God. Hunger and thirst for righteousness is arising in the earth, throughout the world many are coming to the resolve that only God can deliver us from this crisis. As we continue to carefully follow the precautions and advice provided by WHO, CDC and our health professionals we should also continue to hope, trust and travail in prayer.

Believers have become intercessors. More believers have moved from being self centered to being kingdom minded. They have started interceding for the world, it is no longer about their personal lives but God’s people and His will and plan for the world. The evil plague of sin has been in our world for the longest but we paid it no mind but this crisis has awakened us to the need to pray and seek the salvation and healing of the world.

“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.

Acts 2:17

Healing is Taking Place

God is healing and sustaining the world. Many are recovering from the virus. Aside physical healing from the virus, people are also recieving the peace of God which is relieving many of depression, and other soulical and mental issues. The wind of God is blowing through the earth and sharing the love of God abroad in the hearts of many.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 1-3:1-5

It is my prayer that the body of Christ will not cease to intercede for the world after this pandemic is over. Beloved in Christ, let’s continue to faithfully pray, spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, do good always and allow the light of Christ Jesus to always shine through us. In Christ we will always prevail in Jesus. Take heart, hold on, God is with us, God’s rain is refreshing, restoring and reviving the earth.

The lyrics of this song sums it all up when it states that even when we don’t feel like God is working, God never stops working and keeps on working. In God’s time all that is being done will reveal the beauty of the glory of God.

  1. Amen. “Melodies from heaven, Rain down on us”. Wash us, cleanse us, refresh us, revive us. Holy Spirit, Soak us through and through with your “Melodies from heaven”. Open our eyes, our ears, our hearts. Rain down on us Lord. To God be all the glory. Halleluia!
