Words Come Alive – Part 1

About two months ago, I spoke on a message “Words Come Alive”. This message made a great impression on my heart on how to use words both in thoughts and spoken out. I started to notice that most of the happenings in my life come out of the words I speak and think . During the sermon many who were present commented that it was a great reminder for their own lives and needed to be careful with their thoughts as well as with their spoken words.

Everyday Use of Words

In each every single day, gazillion words are spoken into the atmosphere. We speak words in many diverse forms through different languages, local dialects, and so many forms and ways. The fact is we release words all the time whether we are thinking or speaking. It almost seemed like nothing gets done without first expressing it in a word or words. Words are used to express what we want to do or want others to do or even just hope to happen. In fact  words are so important without which I will not be able convey this message as a blog post.

We produce the words we use so easily that we often forget the impact or consequences of the words we express.

3 Key Effects of Words

  1. Words carry PowerDeath and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Life and death lies in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).              James 3:8-10  “but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!”.  The tongue is one of the key components used in releasing words from a person. Insert “human word” wherever you see “tongue” to see the power of the words we speak. God’s word cautions us to be aware of this power hence our words needs to be released wisely and most importantly to God’s glory.
  2. Word affect our Actions and Emotions
  3. Words shape Destinies –  Our words have an impact in our formation. In the word of God “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible (Hebrews 11:3).  There is a creative power in the words we speak, as we have seen in Hebrews just as God formed the universe by His words, so do we also form things with what we say. Beloved in Christ things manifest when we speak them, many have shaped their life by speaking faith into their lives and have seen it manifested. A motivating factor propels you when you speak good things in your life and hence you start to operate to manifest what you have spoken.

I end with these words of Lord Jesus Christ

“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” – ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:35-37‬ ‭NLT‬‬

36675-165Beloved in Christ, let us fill our beings with the words of life that is the word of God and out of that we will speak words of life that will bring glory to God. Our heart is the storage of all the words we speak, what we pour into it is what will come out.

Be blessed dear one and always remember that Jesus Christ dearly loves you for He gave His life for you.
