Set your eyes on the path

What usually happens when one fails to look in the direction he or she is moving in? Looking away for just a short period or long period of time could cause an accident. One can bump into someone or a something if walking or even hit into another car if you are driving. Well I hope you get the point, taking your eyes off the direction you are heading can be very dangerous.

Another wonderful day to digest the marvelous word of God. In today’s devotion, let us pay attention to the message to the church in Colossae

So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your[a] life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory. -Colossians 3:1-4

The first thing I noted in these that they explain what it means to be a Christian. As Christians, we are RAISED with Christ, HIDDEN with Christ  and will be REVEALEDwith Christ in glory. This a great privilege that we cannot bear to miss. For me it looks like we  are just wrapped up in Jesus Christ and all that should be seen in us is Jesus Christ.

So, Beloved we are Christians. Our path in life is in the heavenward direction. Our brother Paul today is reminding us through his message to the church in Colossae that our minds must align with the path we are heading in this life.

Set your minds on things that are above not on things that are on earth

We are on a journey,  we are heading somewhere in our lives as Christians. This earth is temporary and a time will come when we will leave the earth go to meet God face to face in the other side of eternity. As we are moving through this path of life with Christ. Our eyes, minds and hearts must also be focused on this direction we are heading in.

Taking our eyes off the path we are heading can be very detrimental to us. In short accidents may occur, I mean we will fall into temptations, we will not be able to overcome the trials and challenges that will come our way because of lost focus.

Beloved of Christ, look into the path that you are heading in your walk with Christ, set your mind on where you are heading. Do not be turn or stare at the side attractions, they are meant to distract you and lead you into destruction. I pray the Holy Spirit will continue to guide us and remind us of God’s word to keep us focused.

Always remember that you are dearly loved by Jesus Christ who gave His life that you will have life and have it more abundantly <3.

Stay blessed 🙂37560hd

Keep your eyes fixed on where you are going 🙂
