Be a light in the darkness

be-the-light

The light, the brightness, the ability to see because something is producing the light.  The purpose of light is that we may be able to see what we need to see. I do not know about you but I am truly grateful to God for creating the light. Can you imagine a day without light, what will happen? ( I will leave you to just play with your imagination on this one). For me, it will be a chaotic day, people will bump into each other, we will not be able to get to our destinations, a lot of things will go wrong on this day because of the absence of light.

Hello there, I pray that the above has been able to stir your mind to appreciate the existence of the light we have in the world. Today God’s word to you is to be a light in the darkness. John the apostle really got the revelation of the light down, right from the beginning of his narration of the gospel, he draws our mind to Jesus Christ as the light (John 1:4). Our verse for today is :

36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them. – John 12:36

While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.

Jesus Christ is telling the disciples and today as you read this verse, He is speaking to you today that by believing in Him, we become like Him. To become a light in the darkness, you first have to be a light, this is how we become light by believing in Jesus Christ. Believing in Jesus Christ is beyond just saying “yea I believe in Him” but rather, living for Jesus Christ. The evidence we have to prove our belief in Christ is our obedience and devotion to Him. While we still live and experience the grace of God every day, beloved, let us believe in Him so that we will become and remain as sons and daughters of the light. The more intimate your relationship with Christ, the brighter you shine as a light.

We live in a world filled with chaos, disasters, issues and all manner of things are happening around us daily. The call to be the light is to be as Jesus Christ is in our lives. When you believe in Him, you become like Him.

Dear one, we are called to go into the world brighten up the places filled with darkness with our fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – Galatians 5:22).

Let the life of Jesus Christ shine through you today and bring joy, hope, truth into someone’s life. When Jesus Christ came into the world, He became the light that made all who believe in Him see. The people in the darkness experienced a great light by seeing Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and life. All chaos and confusion cease when we have the light to see the way, the truth, and life. All who are lost return home because the light is here.

I do not know what is going on around you, it could be in your family, workplace, school, or community. People are experiencing darkness all around them which makes them confused, sad, angry and broken. Be the light in someone’s life today, pray for them, offer a helping hand, love them so that they will give glory to your Father in Heaven by being the light.

I pray that you have been inspired by the word of God today to go forth and be light where ever you and may God be your strength and guide you always. Our source of light is Jesus Christ, abide in Him always and your light will never go dim. Stay blessed. Jesus loves you 🙂
