The Holy Spirit, Our Treasure

All thanks and glory be to God for His daily mercies, grace and abundant love He shares with us daily. What can man do without God, I am so grateful to my maker today and continue to rejoice in Him for all that He does.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. – 2nd Corinthians 4:7-10

Beloved in Christ, today, I am glad to remind and share with you that we are forever conquerors in Christ. Our Bible verse for today is from the fourth chapter of the second letter to the church of Corinth by Apostle Paul. The Apostle in this verse was expressing the glory in living a life as a child of God.

The life of a true believer is bound to face hardships but let us today, meditate on the words of this scripture and be encouraged by the hope of the victory we have in Christ through all that we go through.

First the Apostle mentions we have a Treasure in earthen vessels; the treasure symbolizes the Holy Spirit in us and the earthen vessel stands for our physical body. Paul starts this testimony with the mention of the reason why He is able to stand all that He encounters. The Holy Spirit, our treasure is the one that abides in our bodies. Beloved today, I remind you that Holy Spirit presence with you and in you is the guarantee of your ability to overcome all that comes against you.

Paul mentions all kinds of harm and difficulties they encounter but in all of this, the expectations of the enemy are not met.

The Spirit of God guards and guides us to nullify the plan of the enemy.

The Plan of the Enemy vs The Plan of God

Hard Pressed to Crush You – Not Crushed

Perplexed to cause despair – Not in despair

Persecuted to be forsaken – Not forsaken

Struck down to be destroyed – Not destroyed

The plot of the enemy was to bring the beleivers to destruction but because of the Treasure (The Holy Spirit) in them, they were able to demonstrate the power of God in their ministry and also overcome all the challenges they faced to the Glory of God.

Paul and the believers encountered all of this that they will manifest the life of Christ in them. Beloved I pray that today, you will be encouraged in this testimony of Paul to the church of Corinth that the presence of the Holy Spirit with us, gives us the grace, the ability, the power to stand firm and overcome all that enemy throws at us. Attimes, all these must happen that our testimony will be great to reveal the Glory of God for men to testify of the greatness of our God.

Dear one, do not wallow in your sorrows, do not allow the expectations of the enemy be met, hold on to the words of God and let the Holy Spirit manifest the power of God through you and you will truly testify of the greatness of the life of Christ in you. Always keep this in your heart that with Christ, we are more than conquerors.

Stay blessed.
