20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.- Jude 1:20-21

The most valuable and most precious thing in the life of humanity is not riches, is not our achievements/ accomplishments, is not our talents or gifts it is our eternal life that is received in Jesus Christ.

Dear one, your life in Christ is very valuable and very precious in the sight of God and should be so to you as well. Paul knew this revelation states in his letter to the Philippians, …work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; -Philippians 2;12. There is no possession that man can achieve on this earth that supersedes the grace of salvation.

Valuable things are maintained so that we do not lose them.

This morning, the word of God is saying to us, to maintain this life that we receive in Christ Jesus.  The verse presents three (3) key things we ought to do maintain this new life.

1. Praying in the Holy Spirit, – Praying in the Holy Spirit, is when your spirit has a divine experience with God in a time of praying. This is not a mere act of placing requests before God but having a divine conversation with God. This experience is what Moses had with God, So the Lord spoke to Moses’ face to face, as a man speaks to his friend….-Exodus 33:11. It is time spent with God in divine communion. Dear one, God is the source of our life in Christ and it is important that we constantly connect to Him to maintain this life. Is not possible for anything to exist without their source. Praying in the Holy Spirit is setting time aside and seeking God’s divine presence, meditating and praying the scriptures and enjoying fellowship with Him. Are you tired? are you weak, are you troubled? there is nothing more refreshing, rejuvenating or enjoyable as praying in the Holy Spirit –Psalm 16:11, In your presence is fullness of Joy
2.  Keep yourselves in the love of God – There is no greater quality in the life of a Christian than the ability for the Christian to demonstrate the love of God.13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.- 1 Corinthians 13:13. The love of God is meditating on what Christ has done for you and manifesting in His love towards others. The love of God is key in maintaining your life in Christ as it allows us to obey His word and walk in obedience to His word. I pray that the Lord will give us the grace to keep ourselves in His love to maintain our life in Christ.
3. Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. – It took grace to bring you and me to the saving knowledge of Christ. Dear one, do not neglect the lost, as you have been saved, seek to serve to bring others to the saving knowledge of Christ. Many are perishing, set our hearts and eyes on the mercies found in Christ Jesus to bring the saving knowledge of Christ to all others who have not experienced Him.

I pray that this morning you have been blessed with the word of God to continue to build your life in Jesus Christ. Christ has given all that we need to build on this life we have in Jesus Christ. Your life in Christ is very precious, do not undermine how to keep this life, set your heart to diligently keep this life you have received in Christ Jesus.
