15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.- 2 Corinthians 5:15
Beloved, in the above passage, Paul highlights a very significant aspect of believers’ lives i.e what/who to live for.
Though Easter may have past but the message of Easter is not limited to be shared in a season or month. Beloved, we ought to daily remember and stay our hearts and minds on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for all humanity. Christ died and rose again that all who will believe in Him as their Lord and Savior will receive ETERNAL LIFE in Him.
In this passage, Paul highlights that THOSE WHO LIVE referring to those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior should no longer live for themselves but for Him (Christ) alone.
What does’s it mean to live for yourself? – Is to live a life that is self-pleasing, self-gratifying, forsaking the will of God and living in your own will. It is living a life that neglects the word of God and seeks to gratify your fleshly desires.
What does it mean to live for Christ- To live for Christ is to live a life that is yielded to the Spirit of God. A life that is surrendered to abide in the will and word of God. A life set to trust and obey God. A life that manifests the righteousness of Christ.
Paul reminds us of the death and the resurrection of Christ to relate to this new life because it is a life that demands to crucify the flesh and being alive in the Spirit.
I pray that this day, the Spirit of God will give us the grace and strength to live for Jesus Christ and not for ourselves. Our lives have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, we are valuable to Him and to Him. Do not allow fleshly and worldly desires to lead you into destruction, live for Christ always.
May God bless and keep you 🙂
