Starting a new thing always conjures anxious feelings in me. As a person who is always trying to do well, I wonder to myself what if I fail and things do not turn out as expected. The beginning of a new year for many starts off with feelings of anxiety. The goals, plans, and expectations to make great accomplishments in the new year can be sometimes overwhelming resulting in the anxious feelings.
As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we should always remember whom we have entrusted with our lives. Our hope in life is built in Jesus Christ alone, our solid rock and anchor in life. Paul pens these words to the faithful ones in the church of Philippi:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV
Pray
Beloved in Christ, let’s turn all our worries into prayers. Whatever comes up in your heart as a care, doubt, or concern, just bring that to God in prayer and trust Him to work it out for His glory.
Give God thanks
Give thanks to God for who He is, what He has done and what He will do. As you give thanks you become more aware of God’s faithfulness and grace, and this ignites your faith to continue to trust and abide in God.
Renew your mind with the word of God
Also, whenever negative thoughts attempt to come into your mind, make the conscious effort to search and meditate on Scripture. In the word of God, you will find things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report. God’s word will lead and guide you on the path that will fulfill God’s will in your life and bring God all the glory.
In all of this, you will find that the supernatural peace of God will come into your heart and mind and guide you through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Beloved in Christ, may the guiding peace of God lead you in this year and all the days of your life. Be blessed!

Amen!🙏
