Reveal Christ to One Another

The enormity of God’s love for humanity transcends any human understanding. Scripture bears witness through the testimonies from Genesis through to Revelation of how God relentlessly pours out His love towards humanity. The ultimate manifestation of God’s love towards humanity was in giving His only begotten Son (our Lord Jesus Christ) to die for our salvation.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

John 15:13 NKJV

For God’s everlasting love towards us, He sent His only begotten into the world to die for us so that by believing in Him we will obtain eternal life and become children of God. God’s love is His very nature which is grounded in His selflessness, grace, goodness, kindness, mercy, joy, truth, patience, and all the fullness of God.

Our Lord Jesus Christ in His time on earth lived out the love of God as a human. Being fully human, Jesus Christ embodied through the grace and power of the Holy Spirit the love of God and fully shared it with us. Everyone Jesus Christ encountered experienced the beauty and power of God’s love through Christ. Whether it was in Jesus Christ edifying the people with God’s truth, healing them of their diseases, empowering the weak, bringing joy to those who mourn, fellowshipping with the people and ultimately dying for all of us. Beloved in Christ, in our own ability as humans, we cannot love as Christ does, the power and enablement to love others as Christ does can only be given to us by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Dear one let’s open our hearts and allow the Spirit of God to fill us with God’s love so that we can love others as Christ loves us.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

John 13:34 NKJV

In this post, I want to hone three aspects of how Christ loves us and how we should reveal these aspects in our love towards others. These three aspects in demonstrating Christ love towards others are (1) be selfless, (2) be gracious, and (3) be truthful.

Selflessness Towards Others

Our Lord Jesus Christ is our greatest role model not thinking of Himself gave His life that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Let’s strive always to reveal Christ to others by being selfless in our deeds by putting others first.

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others.

Philippians 2:3-4 NkJV

Gracious Toward Others

As believers, we know that we have been forgiven much. We all can bear witness that if not for the forgiveness we have received in Christ Jesus our lives would have been doomed for eternal damnation. God has extended His grace towards us and we ought to do the same towards others.

32  And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32 NKJV

Truthful in all things

Jesus Christ makes known to us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. Our Lord is the author of truth and taught us the truth which sets us free from the bondage of sin and death. To love others as Christ loves us to also bear witness of God’s truth to them. It is the embodied truth of God in our lives that will help others to know God as their heavenly Father, Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit as their helper, friend, and comforter.

15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

Ephesians 4:15 NKJV

Loving as Christ loves is one of the powerful ways that we can overcome the works of the enemy in this world. The enemy seeks to bring about division and destruction among humanity but with the believers’ hearts, set to love as Christ loves at all cost will overcome all the vices of the enemy. A multitude of sins will be swallowed up in the demonstration of God’s love in the world. Hearts of many will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and will come to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. As believers, our ways may seem to the world as weak, passive, unwise but it is these selfless acts of love, grace, and bearing witness of God’s truth many will experience great transformation as they will come to see Christ in us and come to the saving knowledge of His name.

I strongly urge you my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s allow the word of God to richly dwell in our hearts so that out of that we can love others as Christ loves us. Be blessed.
