The Promises of Prayer

When seasons of trials and crises seem unending, as believers we become challenged to persevere in prayer. The flesh becomes weary and attempts to give up praying, but this is when we seek strength from the Lord to help us press on because we know that in the end if we do not give up we will prevail.

Here are a few reminders from God’s Word about God’s promises of prayer:

God grants us peace when we pray

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

God fulfills His promises to those who abide in Him

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

John 15:7 NKJV

God answers faith-filled prayers

And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

Matthew 21:22 NKJV

Fervent Prayers are powerful

16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

James 5:16 NKJV

God answers our prayers

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV

Prayer of faith brings healing

15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

James 5:15 NKJV

God forgives and heals when we repent in prayer

14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

2 Chronicles 7:14-15 NKJV

There is power in the name of Jesus

13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you [a]ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Matthew 14:13-14 NKJV

Beloved in Christ, these are but a few of God’s promises to us when we pray and I hope you have been encouraged to keep on praying. Let’s keep the words of our Lord Jesus Christ always in our heart that “men always ought to pray and not lose heart. ” – Luke 18:1 May God the Holy Spirit continue to be our helper in our life with Christ Jesus. Be blessed and always remember that Jesus Christ loves you dearly.
