It seems to me that there is an innate desire in most people to be useful, purposeful in the world that we live in. The Bible confirms that God in His grace and goodness have planted in each person the specific assignments accompanied with gifts and talents to be able to serve the purposes and callings on their lives (1 Peter 4:10-11). Many great things that we have the privilege to enjoy in life today is due to the hard work, commitment, and dedication others gave in serving their callings to be a blessing in the world. By serving our purposes we help to alleviate pain and suffering in the lives of people, we help make others’ lives better offering a helping hand and doing what God called us to do. It is especially rewarding when the help we offer has a great impact on our loved ones. No reward can be compared to the fulfillment we derive from being a blessing in the lives of our loved ones.

As believers, we set our hearts to commit all we do to the glory of God for it is not by our might, nor power but by only God’s grace and Spirit that operates in us. One of the most important things we ought to keep in mind always as we faithfully honor God in our purposes and callings is to be a witness of Jesus Christ.
Personally, I have found that it takes less courage and boldness out of me to do everything else but to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Everything else includes volunteer work, donating to support great causes, schoolwork, job, having fun with friends and family and the list could go on, just comes somewhat easy. Our claim to want to be helpful to others or serve our purpose in life transcends doing things to make people’s lives better on this side of eternity. In as much as we strive to fulfill our assignments in the work or callings in our lives, we should never leave out that the ultimate demonstration of love for others is when we share and witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others.

Sharing and witnessing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest act of help or purpose you can serve in life. The Gospel reveals that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ bring life, truth and reveals the way to the Father. We discover the eternal love of the Father in giving His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for us in order that we will be forgiven and granted eternal life. Witnessing Jesus Christ to others brings deliverance, restoration, redemption, hope, joy, God’s love and all the fullness of God to a person, is a treasure that no amount of money in the earth can buy.
Beloved in Christ, the truth is there is a place we will end up after we pass on from this side of eternity. Our souls will live on forever those who believe and accept the Lord Jesus will abide with Him eternally (Heaven) and those who reject Him will be separated from him forever as well (Hell). This is a reality we do not like to hear but the Scripture tells us of this truth. – Matthew 25:46
This world is a temporary place, our time spent here is fleeting. Beloved in Christ, we need to live in this consciousness and live well for God’s glory and not for vain things. Jesus reminds the disciples that they are in this world but know that they are not of this world meaning that they are of another world where they rightfully belong. Every believer is a sojourner in this world, but it does not mean we neglect our responsibilities of taking care of this world. In fact, we need to ensure that the difficulties we faced are eliminated or minimized for the generations that are yet to tread this path of life. We ensure that the water bodies are kept clean and sustained, food supply is in excess and surroundings are kept clean and preserved. Sojourners preserve the path for the loved one who will journey after them.

Dear ones, let us not get entangled in the affairs that are not fruitful and godly as we serve our purposes and callings in life. Let’s keep our minds and hearts grounded in the Word of God. Beloved in Christ, as you live life always assess or examine yourself if you are staying true to yourself as a believer in Christ, journeying through the world and living testimony to stir future sojourners. Life is fleeting, please let use the time to love, live for God by sharing and witnessing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. Remember your ultimate demonstration of love for others is by being a witness of Christ.
Always remember that Jesus loves you so dearly for He gave his life to save you. Stay blessed.
