“All I have is faith in God…”

” Those who have nothing have all, since they have God.” – Evelyn Underhill

On February 24, I shared a message on Youth Sunday titled “Grounded in Faith, Anchored in Hope”. This was the last Sunday in February (Black History Month). In this month, the Young People’s Ministry did a series of presentations on the lives of great trailblazers with an African descent. As I prepared for this Sunday, it dawned on me to review the stories of these amazing people that have been presented. I noticed that all of them had challenges in their pursuit to achieve their goals and dreams. The path to making their dreams and aspirations come true was very rough. Battles were fought, struggles were endured, tears were shed, losses were made but through it all, they prevailed. Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King, Jarena Lee, and a few others whose stories stood out to me. These peoples’ lives were not perfect but they set before them a goal and a vision and strived relentlessly to achieve them.

As I reflect on these stories, I envision our young people who also are filled with dreams, passions, greatness and so many amazing things waiting to burst open . The message for this Sunday became even more profound as I reflected, God was calling the young dreamers, future trailblazers, future leaders of the nations and many awesomeness waiting to happen start off their journey in life by getting themselves rooted in their faith in God and anchored in the glory of Jesus Christ. The path set before each one of us is not an easy path, it is narrow and filled some valleys and mountains. It is a path filled with joys, tears, laughter, victories, losses, good and bad. The unexpected lies before us in each and every day. But our faith in God and hope in His glory keeps us, unshaken by the happenings in this path. Through it all, God is more than able to keep us, God is able to guide us through all the challenges we may face.

On this Sunday, I admonished the young people to keep their faith grounded in God now as the starting point of their pursuit to achieving their dreams. I encouraged them that this is the most important time of their lives to be rooted in Faith in God for one will never know when the storm will come. Faith in God will help you to keep your dreams alive as you dwell on God’s promises. The glory in Christ Jesus will fill your hearts with joys unspeakable, the troubles of this life will not be able to destroy you. You will stand tall and overcome all strife because you faith is in the one who is always faithful and God will manifest His faithfulness to you.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. 10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. 11 Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. 12 So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.– 2nd Corinthians 4:8-12

You will truly bear witness that your accomplishment, the outcomes are all the doings of the Lord. God’s fingerprints will be over everything you do and become. His glory will be all over you. I share this so passionately because I am a living testimony of God’s faithfulness. As a young woman, I have fully surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and I live in each day with the sole desire to live for Christ and this faith I have in God always proves faithful.

So beloved one, please keep your faith grounded in God, God is ever faithful, God will not fail you, anchor yourself in the hope of the glory in Jesus Christ. God makes all things beautiful in His time. Have faith, trust in God and hope in His glory and you will know that those who have nothing but faith in God have everything.

Stay blessed and always know that Jesus Christ dearly loves you for He gave His life for you ❤️.
