Filled with the Fullness of Christ

Words of Apostle Paul to the Church of Ephesus,

Ephesians 3:19 – NKJV

To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

For one to be filled, first requires the previous state to be lacking.  Our lives without Jesus Christ is an empty life. Life become meaningless and purposeless without Jesus. We are as sheep without a shepherd which have gone astray. So, it is very key that we understand and acknowledge as believers that we are made by God our creator  and saved by Him for God’s glory. And in order for us to manifest the glory of God, we first must be filled with the fullness of God.

In this devotion, the word of God is drawing our minds to a very important part of our being to glorify God which is to be filled with the love of God hence the fullness of God.

Most of us may be familiar with the great commandments (Matthew 22:36-40) when Jesus Christ shared that the two great commandment is to love God with the totality of our being and to love our neighbors as ourselves. In these commandments, Jesus Christ was saying what Apostle Paul is emphasizing in our text today from Ephesians 3:19.

Beloved in Christ, we are called, saved, set apart to be an embodiment of the love of God in the world. Our lives are to bring light into the darkness, to confound and nullify the works of the wicked and destroy the forces of darkness that aims to kill, steal and destroy (1 Peter 2:9). There is no greater power that can overcome all of these than the love of Christ.

Today, God’s word calls us to be filled with the fullness of God which is to be so soaked and drenched in the love of Christ which surpasses all the knowledge the world can ever give. Precious one in Christ, for Jesus Christ dearly loved you, He laid down His life that you and I may be saved and obtain the righteousness of God.  God has made His children temples that serves as the habitat for the Spirit of God. Through our committed and devoted lives to God, God is able stretch out His hands and feet to reach out to all who need to know that God loves them with an everlasting love.

We are able to obtain this fullness of God by opening our hearts to receive the love of God (Romans 5:5). Our steadfast commitment and devotion to God makes the love of God come alive in us and by this we are able to share this love with others. We love because God first love us. When God’s love becomes real to you, that is the manifestation of being full of God and from there you are able to witness this love to others about the sweet love of Jesus.

Today, my prayer is that we will continue yield our hearts and minds to God and allow the Spirit of God to share the love of God abroad in our hearts that we may filled with the fullness of God. By being filled with this fullness, we may live our lives to the glory of God by bearing witness to all that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of all.
