Pursue Godliness

At the beginning of every year, we all tend to come up with a list of things that we will like to accomplish to make the year a productive and a successful one. In today’s devotion, my mission is simple is to kindly beseech you to add your list to pursue godliness.

Hello Beloved, what an awesome God we serve. Indeed God is good for His goodness to endure forever more. Today we discuss godliness.

Godliness in my words is to live a life that demonstrates that God is inside of you. As children of God, we have become God’s own and He has put His Holy Spirit inside of us. Our lives now is to be lived in alignment to God’s will and ways in that we bear witness that we are God’s children. Hallelujah! What a divine privilege 🙂

The following are few scriptures that I will like us to soak in to grasp this concept of godliness.

1 Timothy 4:8 – For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

We like to exercise our bodies because we can quickly identify the benefits of doing such. It makes us healthy and even helps us to look great.Just as we exercise our bodies for those outcomes, we also ought to exercise our spirit. Godliness is exercising our spirit being to become strong so that we can be able to live in God’s will and ways always. A strong spirited person is one who overcomes trials and temptations and brings glory to God always. Let us set our minds to exercise our spirit by being godly in this year.

1 Timothy 6:11 -But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

Godliness is a virtue that is acknowledged by God. A godly person is able to demonstrate faith, love, patience, and gentleness because all those characters come as result of living out God inside of you.

Titus 2:11-13 – For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Jesus Christ will come again and take with Him His faithful ones. As we wait on the Lord, one the things we should not overlook is being godly. A godly person is one who is Christ conscious at all times. When Christ is on your heart and mind at all times, you do not miss Him. Christ is coming soon, let Him come and find you living out godliness.

2 Peter 1:3 –   As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

The great and amazing news is that we have all that we need in Christ Jesus to be able to live out godliness. God will not ask anything of you that He will not provide the grace to accomplish it. God’s people, we have it all to be godly. Let me just highlight a few, we have the Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit), we have the scripture (God’s word) we have the privilege of prayer (Access to God at all times). Godliness is not impossible, it is possible through Jesus Christ who provides us with strength.

I pray that today’s devotion has been able to bring enlightenment into your heart to pursue godliness in this year. There are many out there that you will be a blessing to through being a godly person. Press to be godly and Jesus Christ will be glorified in your life. Jesus Christ loves you dearly, never forget that ❤

Stay blessed.
