The Mystery of our New life in Christ

“I give my life to God and I wholly accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior of my life. Jesus Christ come into my life today and have your way in me. From today, it is not I who lives but Christ who lives in me, for all the days of my life Jesus, I am yours forever.”

The Prayer of a Found Child of God

Becoming a New Person in Christ

These words or similar to these words when truthfully confessed by a broken and repentant heart makes one a new person in Christ. The new person we become in Christ is first by faith in God and by His grace alone not of our doing as stated in Ephesians 2:8.”

8For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God,  We do not do anything to merit our salvation in Christ, it is God’s love that draws us and His grace and mercies alone that makes us new.

Ephesians 2:8

Our old life of sin is utterly taken away by God. God no longer sees us as a sinner but now only sees us through the lenses of Jesus Christ as holy and righteous as Christ is. That is why every believer earns the identity as a child of God and is also given the power to live as such, as stated in John 1:12.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: God gives you His Holy Spirit

John 1:12

The Presence of the Holy Spirit in the Believer’s Life

This is the beautiful truth. Once we become a child of God through our faith in Him and His grace in Jesus Christ, He blesses us by giving us His Holy Spirit to dwell within us. The Spirit of God then guides us, teaches us, and empowers us to live out our identity as children of God. This is clearly stated in Ephesians 1:13 and is a great comfort to all believers.

13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,. “

Ephesians 1:13

The Spirit of God brings understanding and revelation of the truth that God has given us in the Bible.-

But the [a]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 14:26

Reading the Bible becomes a transformative experience once we become a child of God. The words on the page come alive and we are given new insights and understanding of God’s truth. My personal experience, my desire to know God through the scriptures was deepened and I found studying the word of God intriguing and also an enjoyable experience. It is through reading the Bible that we come to know Jesus Christ on a deeper level. This experience is meant to help us know God’s truth and know Him for who He is. It also empowers us to live out the victorious life we have received in Christ for all days of our lives.

The Work of the Holy Spirit in the Believer’s life

As a child of God, I have experienced how reading the Bible can be a transformative experience. The words on the page come alive, and I gain new insights and understanding of God’s truth. Through reading the Bible, I have been able to deepen my relationship with Jesus Christ. This experience has helped me to know God’s truth and know Him for who He is, and has empowered me to live out the life I have received in Christ for the rest of my days.

  • According to the Bible, the Spirit of God uses God’s word to guide and direct our new life in alignment with God’s will and purpose.
  • The Spirit of God also gives us the power to do things we could never do on our own, such as healing, praying in tongues, discernment, and word of knowledge, to name a few.
  • These gifts of the Spirit are supported by scripture, such as 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. The purpose of these gifts is to bear witness to Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of the world, testifying with His signs and wonders to glorify God and help others as the extension of God’s mercy on the earth.
  • As His vessel, I believe that God uses us to reach out to others who need His help through us. This may bring many to also come to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, allowing them to experience the eternal love of their Heavenly Father.

Maintaining Your New life in Christ

Devoting your life to prayer and meditation on God’s word can help renew your understanding of life and how to live it by God’s will. A Commitment to fasting and praying can also help strengthen your spirit and keep you in communion with God. Committing yourself to a life of service to others, both in your community and beyond, can allow you to be a vessel of God’s mercy to His people. These practices, when they become a pattern, can help ground you and enable you to continue living in God’s holiness and righteousness.

It’s important to remember that these things are acts of grace that God gives us to help us remain in Him and should never be seen as works that merit anything from God. This is a snapshot of the new life in Christ as a believer – how it starts and how to keep it going. While things may not always line up perfectly, God’s grace and mercy are always available to help and keep us. God promises to never leave us, and as believers in Christ, we should never leave God or depart from His presence. As long as we hold on, trust, and obey, God will glorify the name of Jesus Christ in our lives.

May God bless you and may this message stir your heart to seek Jesus Christ and know Him as your Lord and Savior.
