Words Come Alive – Part 2

It all come from a source that we create

In the last post on “Words Come Alive”, I ended with the words of our Lord Jesus Christ  in Matthew 12:35-37 which reveals that the things that we speak come from a created source.

Beloved in Christ, the words we speak always stem from somewhere. It comes from a source which often consciously or unconsciously we create ourselves.  The way a person  sounds when he or she speaks could be based on the sounds of the voices that surrounds the person. For example, because I grew up and lived most of my formative years in Ghana, I speak English with a Ghanaian accent. Hence, the words we speak are influenced by our environment ( includes: people, things, events in our surroundings). Basically we speak forth what we have soaked in.

We speak forth what we have soaked in.

The source influences the words we speak and the words we speak becomes our actions and our actions birth results be it good or bad.

Source –> Word we speak –> Actions we do –> Results/Outcomes (good or bad)

Therefore, the words we are forming are very critical to the outcomes we are going to have in life. As I previously stated, the accent changes, slang words, ideologies of a person are formed based on their surroundings and what he or she is absorbing in their environment.

So Beloved, I ask where are you drawing your sources from to shape your words:

  1. What are you thinking about? (Your mind, what is feeding your mind?)
  2. What is feeding your thoughts?
  3. What thoughts are influencing the words that you speak and what words are influencing your actions?

The word of God makes it clear, our flesh yearns to be fed with pleasurable things which often tend to be evil, and not pleasing to God. Fulfilling the yearnings of the flesh profits nothing but also they sow vain seeds in us. Those vain things  tend to affect the words we speak. The words you thought you heard from somewhere and you kept listening to start becoming your words. The negative things that we soak ourselves in start to come out through our expressions and our words. You see is not only with our mouths that we speak words, our  actions speak words too.

The truth is we will make mistakes with our words but God’s grace avails

Dear one, God’s grace avails to forgive us of the words that are not of God. When you say something you were not supposed to, is not stuck, you ask for forgiveness from God and from the people you hurt. Allow God to heal your heart and seek to be filled with the words of life, truth and love.

Paul says to the Church of Philippi:

Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

I pray that the Spirit of God in us will always guide our tongue to release words that edify and build up. Always remember dear one, that Jesus Christ dearly loves you for He gave His life to save you. Stay blessed.
