Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
‘For Yah, the Lord is my strength and song;
He also has become my salvation.’”[a]

Therefore with joy, you will draw water
From the wells of salvation. – Isaiah 12:2-3

In my Ghanaian culture, we have this proverb which is literally translated as “Great comfort births forgetfulness.” This means that humans have a natural tendency to forget the past (be it good or bad) when they become comfortable in life.Of all the things that we may forget in life when we become comfortable, it is my prayer and hopes that we never forget the joy of salvation that we receive in Jesus Christ.

Our devotion calls us to reflect on the joy of salvation. Easter is a season when we recall how God gave Godself to die to redeem humanity from sin. A time of great joy and celebration that we have been given power through Jesus Christ to be reunited with our heavenly Father. Sin no longer separates us, we are redeemed, restored and made whole in Christ Jesus.

Prophet Isaiah is known to be one of the prophets who prophesized extensively about the coming Messiah. His prophecies are among the ones that are usually read and recalled in our Easter services. In today’s text, Isaiah speaks of the strength, hope, joy, and provision that is found in Salvation. God reveals to his prophet the great blessing it has salvation in Him. Our faithful God when time had fulfilled its course sent our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to bring us salvation.

Beloved in Christ let us hold on to our salvation for in it, we find strength, hope and all that we need to be victorious our Christian journey,

Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
‘For Yah, the Lord is my strength and song;

The word of Isaiah reveals to us the power of salvation. Jesus Christ is our salvation and with this hope and faith in Him, we ought never to be afraid.

Therefore with joy, you will draw water
From the wells of salvation.

When the storms of life wage at us, it is the well of salvation that we draw from to continue to hope and believe that it is well.

Beloved of Christ, the season of Easter is a time of reflection on the gift of eternal that we receive in Jesus Christ.  Please do not take this gift for granted but allow the joy of salvation to become the fountain that you draw from all the days of your life. Hold on to salvation and rejoice in Christ Jesus always.

Have a wonderful Easter celebration, may this season rekindle your joy of salvation as you celebrate the King of kings.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. – Psalm 51:2

Always remember that Jesus Christ dearly loves you! ❤
