“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Jesus Christ the true vine, Believers the vine branches
“I am the vine; you are the branches”
Today, God’s word to us is that we bear fruit in our lives to testify of our identity as children of God and to also bring glory to God our Father.
In today’s verse, I love how Jesus Christ gives us a beautiful image of the vine and branches to show us how we become a part of Him when we accept Him into our lives as our Lord and Savior. In this image, it clearly shows that we become one with Christ. The vine is not detached from the branches neither is the branch detached from the vine. We are in Christ and He is in us. Praise God!
Vine branches to bear fruit
“If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;”
As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to be fruitful. To be fruitful means to live out our purposes as children of God. Our attachment to Jesus Christ makes it more than possible to fulfill our purposes in God. Jesus Christ assures you and me today that as long as we remain in Him, our lives will produce fruits that will bear witness of who we are as God’s children. What has God called you to do? You can do it in Jesus Christ, for as long as you attached to Him, He will provide all the nutrients the vine branch needs to bear fruit to show that indeed you are in Him.
Apart from Jesus, We can do nothing.
“Apart from me you can do nothing”
How can you live as a child of God without God, apart from Jesus, we can do nothing. This is one very profound truth I can truly testify because it has been Jesus Christ through it all for me. And I believe with Jesus Christ in your life, you will be able to do what God has called you to do. In Christ, we bear much fruit 🙂
I pray that today’s word has opened your eyes to see how faithful God is in our lives, how much we depend on Him and the need for us to bear fruit as Children of God. My dear one, remain in Him and let Him remain in you and you will bear much fruit. Always remember that Jesus Christ dearly loves you!
God seems to be reminding me of this today! Thank you for this post. I just stumbled on your blog today, but I’m so glad I did!
